Max Cancellieri moved to Montauk at 13 and immediately felt like he was “home”. For 5 years Max worked at the skatepark where he was known for his patience with the young kids and his love of teaching them to skate. (and of eating buffalo chicken pizza every day for lunch at the park). Max was a kind, gentle soul who always stopped to lend a hand to a child on the snowboard trail, to a homeless man who was hungry, or to a baby frog trapped in a river. These were some of the last pieces this young artist created before he died, and his family has created prints. The message “Even if you don’t hug me back” is a constant reminder to us that even when people don’t show that they need it, a hug for our children, our friends and our fellow humans is the gift of connection we can all offer.
originals are not for sale but limited prints are available for $25
